Lowri Morrison
I joined Pen-y-bont SLSC when I was 7 years old, and was an active member for over 10 years. The club has given me the most amazing experiences and opportunities as well as being like a second family when growing up!
I love surf lifesaving sport and think it is a brilliant activity to keep fit as well as gaining such important knowledge of first aid and beach safety.
Whilst a member of the club, I competed at numerous Welsh and British championships and was fortunate to captain the youth team for numerous years. I was given the opportunity to compete abroad twice, once in France with the Welsh team in 2014, and also for the club at the 2016 World Championships in the Netherlands. My favourite events to compete in were the board, ski and Ironman, and I used to love training when there was a bit of surf! I still swim at university, having been a member of the water polo club for three years and I can’t wait until I can re-join the club after graduating!
The club is a great place to make good friends, keep active and have fun, and I’d recommend it to anyone who was thinking about joining!
